Emilee Taylor joined the Board of Directors for the North Pinellas Community Band in the summer of 2025, bringing with her a deep passion for music performance and community engagement. She graduated from St. Petersburg College in May 2024 with her Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in music performance and education, where she performed with the St. Petersburg College Wind Symphony, Concert Band, College Choir, and Madrigalians—playing an active role in the college’s vibrant and diverse music community. She continues to perform with the SPC Wind Symphony while expanding her musicianship in other community ensembles.

Emilee studied flute privately throughout high school and college, working with esteemed instructors Barbara Prescott, Spencer Katz, David Tagliarini, and Dr. Nathan Muehl. In addition to her principal instrument, she studied secondary piano under Jeffrey Donovick and voice with Linda Switzer, further broadening her musical foundation. During her time in college, she also began doubling on alto flute and bass flute, enhancing her range and versatility as a performer.

She explored conducting under the guidance of Dr. Muehl and volunteered extensively in the college’s music library. While earning her degree, Emilee served as president of the Music Education Club at St. Petersburg College, helping organize events and foster connections among music students.

In January 2023, Emilee represented St. Petersburg College at the FCSAA Winter Symposium, where she competed in the Student Artist Competition and won the woodwind category on flute. Beyond her time at SPC, she has devoted countless hours to mentoring young musicians, assisting middle school band programs throughout Pinellas County, and running her own private teaching studio.

Outside of her musical pursuits, Emilee is currently earning her nursing degree at St. Petersburg College, aspiring to become a pediatric flight nurse. She works at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, where she combines her compassion for helping others with her drive for excellence.

In her free time, Emilee enjoys planning trips, doing research, watching sunsets at the beach, and exploring the ocean—recently achieving her scuba diving certification.
